Currently, I'm obsessing on coupons and freebies. Like my friend said, there seems to be a whole underground world assosciated with coupons and freebie deals. I'm sure I will be posting more on that topic soon. I think that for my first blog post I will tell a little about myself.
I've been married for 19 1/2 years. I have three beautiful boys and am currently raising our nephew. I am a stay at home Mom. I homeschool my oldest DS. I am quite passionate about homemaking and being a good helpmeet to my husband and high school sweetie. That puts it all out there in a nice little package, huh? It has taken me a very long time to realize that behind every label a woman gives herself is probably a story to go along with it. We all have our own stories that make us uniquely ourselves. My story is probably much like many of you. Does any of this sound familiar?
"I'm a submissive wife to a husband who did not want a submissive wife".
"I've been married to my husband for 18 years, but......."
"I can't seem to keep the house clean like I thought I could"
"I can't stick to a diet"
"I talk on the phone too much"
"I waste too much time on the computer"
"My children sometimes drive me crazy"
"I do all this, but financially, we are just getting by"
Yes, behind everyone is their own "buts"; their own story that complicates their life. What I have in addition to my story is this: The story does not define us. The situation does not define us. We have the ability within us and I believe, thru Christ, to choose to be happy and defined beyond the labels we use to idenify ourselves. Finding that, came with the peace that I personally found in my salvation.
***Edited to add: I started this blog in September of 2008. How funny it is to come back to and find a few unpublished posts. I guess it wasn't just a whim. A year and a half later, I'm quite interested to blog, and share!
