My foray into the blog-o-sphere ended abruptly March 8, 2010. I kept thinking I might get back to it, but finally when November rolled around, the thought became a New Year’s resolution!
With that thought in mind, here are my other resolutions (And I use that term very loosely, as I am prone to change my mind on a WHIM)
1. Love, love, love my family. I have always loved them, but until this last year, I don’t know that I realized the value of really cherishing and being in the moment, every moment.
2. Start a prayer journal. I have the idea to do this, not so I can go back and read my prayers and see what prayers were answered. I don’t do that at all. I want it to remind me to pray, even when I don’t feel like praying. I plan to keep it on the night stand.
3. Continue to work with DH on financial decisions. This is something we struggle with. It’s something we would rather not talk about. It always spoils the mood. Ugh..20 years we’ve been doing this!
4. Lose 20 pounds. Oh, I could stand to lose a lot more, trust me on that! But I think if I lost 20 pounds, I could actually be happy with that size. I learned a lot about myself and weight in 2010 and I hope to share some of those thoughts with you in the future.
So there it is. Nothing life changing. Nothing too complicated. There will not be a brand new me set to crash and burn by January 15th. I think it’s reasonable and do-able and can be summed up like this: Love my family, pray, pay the bills, lose 20 pounds and write until my heart is content.
Loving my family in 2011 began with New Year’s Day Dinner. And by dinner, I mean lunch, not supper. It’s southern all the way! We are having Hog Jowl, Hoppin John, Greens, Cabbage and Cornbread.
My Plate: Starting with cornbread, hog jowl, hoppin john, greens, cabbage, and fried potatoes!
It was a fun meal. The carb over-load sent me crashing for a nap. I plan to do this yearly. Everyone had such a nice time and surely one day of carbs won’t kill me!
Until next time,
Kim
You have to know I am literally grinning over you having chargers under your plates! A far cry from my mishmash of snowmen plates, black plates, and cool whip containers! Glad to see your back blogging. I am looking for 20 pounds too. I gained 20 pounds over the time Micah was sick.
ReplyDeleteChargers and all things pretty.....looks good, huh? I literally went to Wal Mart and bought spoons just so we would have enough for each person eating! Pictures never show the whole story. Thank goodness!
