Recipe, Super Buys at Kodak and more…

Ok.  I have to admit I am taking a little time getting back into the blogging swing.  I CANNOT remember to take pictures of the things that will be appealing in my blog.  Give me time……I think I will get there!
CVS is my hero this week.  I saw several scenarios online for money making deals but mine is specific to our family needs.  First you have to know that my husband requires one 2liter Pepsi per day.  Oh, if he’s doing the shopping or even if he’s with me, he will say just get 3 or 4.  But I know this man.  I know that if he runs out, we will have to get more and if we have to get more, then the grocery bill goes up because who goes into a store and buys only Pepsi?  Not us!
This week CVS has Pepsi for $1.00 each.  Good price for Pepsi.  What made it super sweet was I bought 20 and received $10 in ECBs.  I turned around and bought a 24 pack of Scott’s double roll toilet tissue for……$10!  I’m so excited.  It’s almost like CVS gave us lots of free toilet paper because we would have bought the Pepsi anyway!  I did another deal after that, but I just had to share that one with you because I can’t stop smiling about it!
Want a quick and easy supper…that is virtually cooks itself?  What if I tell you that it also involved almost no clean up? You have to try the Hobo Pockets that I listed in this week’s menu.
Hobo Pockets
Adjust for your family size.  I cook for 5 people.  The vegetables are used according to who likes what and I do not make each one the same.
2 lbs. lean ground beef divided into 5 patties, 1 carrot cleaned and sliced, 1/2 onion cut into large chunks, 1 cup mushrooms roughly cut, 3 small potatoes peeled and sliced thin
Pull off 5 small sections of Aluminum Foil.  Place a patty on each one.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper, grill seasoning or anything you like.
Add veggies as you like, putting potatoes closest to the meat.  Once all veggies are added, sprinkle again with salt and pepper.  Fold the foil over your meal to form a sealed pocket.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Open carefully as the steam will escape quickly once you open your pocket.
Enjoy!

Are you a bargain lover like me?  I just can’t resist a deal.  Take a look at some of the freebies from Kodak Gallery!  I have never seen “Mommy Cards” or “Contact Cards”.  They are too cute and free!  I l(heart) free stuff!
