Continued Amazement at the benefits of Technology!

 

I am continually amazed at the benefits we have because of technology.  I can remember in the earlier years of PCs and the internet when it really was not a time saver, but if you wanted to type a letter, make a sign, or even a spreadsheet, having a home PC was nice.  I remember finding tons of information on the internet, but no real utility.

We all know how much things have changed.  And I officially believe we are in the age in which internet technology is actually bringing many benefits to us. My rave tonight is for Google Calendar.  I have not loved a calendar so much since I used Outlook and that’s been several years ago! 

This is part of what my week looks like.  The actual page includes more hours.

If you will notice, I have the same thing on the calendar every day from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.  This is because Google Calendar allows you to set up recurring events. Love that!

Now notice that on those same events, I have a note to myself to “see details”.  This is how I currently track my Morning Routine items that you may have see in my Household Forms section of the blog.  Now it is accessible right from my calendar and currently looks like this:

These are my details to do in the early morning.  I change it up as my life changes.  But I love that I have it with me all the time.  With all of the smart devices at our disposal today, we have almost constant access to the internet.  So scheduling on the run is not a problem for me.

Other Fun Facts About Google Calendar:

* You have the ability to set up multiple calendars and view them separately or together.  This is great for large, busy families, collaborative group projects and probably much more.

*If you love to keep your old standby planner, it has a great print feature.

*Did I mention that it’s FREE?  Love that!!!

Check it out.  It’s the best thing I’ve seen in a long time and trust me, I go thru planning plans and processes as well as the best of them! I’ve tried them all and again I’ll say that I am thrilled!
